Stage Rentals

Plantation Productions, Inc., provides very low-cost stage rentals in conjunction with our sound and lighting packages. We currently provide up to three 4'w x 4'd x 2'h sections and up to twenty-four 8'w x 4'd x 2'h stage sections configured however you would like (e.g., 24'x16'x2'). Typical rental sizes are 8'x8', 16'x8', 16'x12', 16'x16', 24'x16', 24'x20', and 32'x24'. We can also accommodate special sizes such as 12' x 12' and certain non-rectangular shapes. See the examples, below, for some common layouts.

For one low cost we'll rent you the stage, deliver it, set it up, and remove it when your event is complete.

Our stage sections have a hardwood surface. We can provide a "drum carpet" for drums (to prevent slippage). We can also provide an 8'x8'x2' carpeted drum riser for the stage

Optional railing is available for certain stage size configurations. Most local ordinances do not require railing until the stage height is 30" or greater. If you wish to create a 4' high stage (by stacking stage sections), then you must include railing as part of the package. Plantation Productions, Inc., does not recommend stacking stage sections if you intend on placing more than 300 pounds per 4'x8' section on the stage (other restrictions may apply, please contact Plantation Productions, Inc., for more details).

Additional items:

Two-step staircase

Three-step staircase (top step is at 2' and equal in height to stage).

Railing: when required, you want to cover the back of the stage and all but about 4' on the sides, leaving appropriate opening(s) for the steps.

Skirting:

  • Flame-retardant velour skirting (generally covering three sides of the stage; color:black).
  • Plastic skirting (lower cost option than velour; disposable, available in multiple colors; NOT FLAME RETARDANT).

Drum risers: an 8'x8'x2' (two 4'x8'x2' sections) carpeted riser for drum kits with 24' of skirting.

Choir risers: up to four 6' choir risers (three steps on each riser). Fits perfectly on a 24' wide stage (with just enough room for the choir members to get around the risers). When all four sections are combined, they form a shallow semi-circle.

Trussing and Backdrops

Plantation Productions, Inc., can provide several trussing options for the stages we rent. If you've seen the entertainment stage at the Riverside Festival of Lights (near the ice rink), you've seen an example of the trussing we can provide.

We can provide single or double truss setups for hanging lights, cycloramas/scrims, decorations, banners, and other devices. We can also provide a full box truss for lights, shade/roofing, and so on.

Plantation Productions, Inc., can provide four types of trusses and stands:

  • Tripod stands and "T" bar (generally up to 10' in height) for a small number of lights or other devices.
  • Two heavy-duty truss stands (up to 350 pounds each) plus 10'-40' (in 5' increments) of 12" rectangular truss. Great for hanging lights, effects, scrims, etc.
  • A stand-supported truss with mesh tarp providing shade to a 24'x16' stage.
  • A full stand-alone box truss that completely covers a stage or other area.

Truss/Backdrop options:

  • 20'x26'x12' box truss with hard roof (this is the truss we use for the City of Riverside's Festival of Lights event in downtown Riverside during the month of December). A 24'x16' stage fits under this truss. See the image below (which includes optional lighting, a 24'x16' stage and the "B" sound system):

  • 20'x26'x12' box truss with mesh netting tarp to provide shade for performers on a stage (a 24'x16' stage fits perfectly under this truss).
  • 20'x26'x12' truss with mesh netting tarp sitting on four truss stands rather than legs (a 24'x16' stage fits perfectly under this truss).
  • 20'x20'x12' box truss (a 16'x16' stage fits under this truss). On five legs or four truss stands.
  • 20'x26' or 20'x20' rectangular roof with mesh tarp supported by four truss stands; provides shade for a 24'x16' or 16'x16' stage (respectively). See the image below (which includes the "A" sound system):

  • 20', 25', 30', 35', or 40' truss (12" rectangular truss) for hanging banners, scrims, lights, effects, etc., complete with two truss stands. Capable of supporting up to 500 pounds (for 20' truss, smaller weight limitations for wider trusses, contact Plantation Productions, Inc., for more details).
  • 10', 20', or 30' scrim (backdrop) with truss and two truss stands.
