We got into this business because we didn't want to pay outrageous sums of money for our own events. We can appreciate the fact that an organization cannot allot many hundreds of dollars just to get a low-end P.A. system for a few hours. We understand that struggling solo artists selling CDs at a street fair aren't able to afford much for their sound or lighting system.

Like any sound company, we like to brag about our high-quality, major-name, equipment that we use on larger shows. However, we also like to brag about our not-so-big name equipment. Because the gear that doesn't require a second mortgage on our houses is the gear that makes it possible for us to do small shows. For example, we have a small 800-watt powered mixing board that we typically use for small shows. That board and amplifier package cost us about 1/20th the price of our larger P.A. system. It also takes us about 1/10th the time to set it up. As a result, we can charge far less for the use of the system while still providing full sound for a small band or solo artist.

Some venues, particularly street fairs, may severely limit the power available to an artist or may not provide any power at all. If you need a little light to make performers stand out in an otherwise dark area, Plantation Productions low-power lighting setup comes to the rescue. Using CFL (compact florescent lamps) you get three to four times the light of regular incandescent bulbs at the same power. We can even run these lights on battery power if no power is available. We do not recommend the use of colored Gels on these lights as they reduce the light output. For the same reason, we do not provide dimming packs for these lights.

For solo artists and small bands that want a little more pizzaz in their show without the expense, setup time, or the heat and glare of a large lighting rig, Plantation Productions offers a compact lighting rig based on Par38 fixtures.
Plantation Productions recommends this kit for productions where the performers have never before worked under bright (and hot) stage lighting. Examples include children’s theatre productions, karaoke, or “open mic” events.

Deep-cycle marine battery and 750 watt invertor. Perfert in situations where a generator isn't appropriate due to sound or engine exhaust. Battery life (obviously) depends on the type and amount of electrical load. For example, 100W of CFL lights (equivalent to about 400W of incandescent light) will last about four hours on this battery pack. |

"All the extension cords you need". We can provide dozens of extension cords including 12 gauge (15 amps, maximum) and 10 gauge (20 amps, maximum) at distances of up to 100 feet from the power source. We can also provide power strips and power splitters as part of this package. |

If a breaker panel is available within 100-200 feet of where you need power, Plantation Productions can tap into the panel and provide you up to 100 amps of 125v power. Because of liability concerns, we will only do this if the breaker panel is not immediately accessible to the general public.
Our power distribution system contains 20 amp breakers for each individual circuit.
Note that this package also includes "all the extension cords you need" (i.e., power distribution package #1).
