Medium-Sized Events
If you've got a full-sized band, or you need to address a larger or more dispersed audience, Plantation Productions' mid-sized systems are just the ticket. Our mid-sized systems include top-name gear such as Allen & Heath, JBL, Crown, QSC, dbx, and other big names. Our mid-sized systems are perfect for bands who provide their own instrument amplifiers and need a vocal P.A. system that will be heard above the instrument amps. Several configurations are available to handle the type of music/event you're producing.
Similarly, our mid-sized lighting rigs are great for full bands, small theatrical presentations, and other events where control over the amount and color of light is important.

Overview

For those who do care about using "name-brand" sound reinforcement and lighting equipment, Plantation Productions' mid-sized event sound systems is the place to start.
The heart of our mid-sized system is our Allen & Heath 24-channel mixing board, a rack of Crown and QSC amplifiers, and our effects rack (featuring components from dbx, T.C. Electronics, Lexicon, T.C. Helicon, and others). Our mid-sized pro audio packages generally provide between 2,400 and 5,200 watts of audio power.
For sound reproduction, we use JBL 418, 415, and 225 speakers in our mid-range systems. These speakers provide some of the best sound you'll get out of a P.A. system without that annoying "mid-range bump" that causing hearing fatigue at loud concerts
Combined with some great Shure microphones and possibly some direct-in boxes for acoustic guitars (with pickups) or Line 6 Pod XT amp modellers for electric guitars, you've got a perfect low-rental-cost P.A. system for medium-sized events.

For loud bands that want uncompromising quality in their sound reinforcement system. Offered in two configurations (4a & 4b): with and without subwoofers. Option 4a provides a total of six JBL 415 speakers for additional dispersion. Perfect if you're not mic'ing the drums or other percussive instruments or instruments with a very low frequency output.
Package 4a is also great for outdoor events where you need a very wide sound dispersion or if you need to address a larger crowd.

For loud bands that want uncompromising quality in their sound reinforcement system. Offered in two configurations (4a & 4b): with and without subwoofers. Subwoofers are great if you want to mic the drums or other percussive instruments or you intend to play some material through the P.A. system that has considerable low-end/percussive audio.

For solo artists and small bands that want a little more pizzaz in their show without the expense, setup time, or the heat and glare of a large lighting rig, Plantation Productions offers a compact lighting rig based on Par38 fixtures.
Plantation Productions recommends this kit for productions where the performers have never before worked under bright (and hot) stage lighting. Examples include children’s theatre productions, karaoke, or “open mic” events.

- Colored gels for all lights (optional: red, green, blue, and amber).

For bands or events that need professional level lighting, Plantation Productions recommends bringing out the “big guns” – our Par64 cans. Light Package #3 is a modest kit using Par64 cans, the “workhorse” of the concert industry. They're a bit hotter and a lot brighter than the smaller packages we offer; they will make your performers stand out on the stage.

"All the extension cords you need". We can provide dozens of extension cords including 12 gauge (15 amps, maximum) and 10 gauge (20 amps, maximum) at distances of up to 100 feet from the power source. We can also provide power strips and power splitters as part of this package. |

If a breaker panel is available within 100-200 feet of where you need power, Plantation Productions can tap into the panel and provide you up to 100 amps of 125v power. Because of liability concerns, we will only do this if the breaker panel is not immediately accessible to the general public.
Our power distribution system contains 20 amp breakers for each individual circuit.
Note that this package also includes "all the extension cords you need" (i.e., power distribution package #1).
